VFS 48 Hour Film Festival.

For those that don't know, the film competition starts off with each group given a number of elements.

In our case we received...

A National Holiday - Flag Day
A Photo - A photo of a fridge
A Soundbyte - Radio Static
A Line of Dialogue - "My fathers shrimp fishing off the coast of Chile.."
A Location - Swan Laundry on Burrard St.

And obviously you have 48 hrs to write, prep, shoot and edit. So not alot of time!

Experimental Film - The Case

The Case - Shot and Chopped by Nik Green and Rick McEachern

This was an experimental trailer shot prior to film school. The intent was to create a suspenseful atmosphere with Michael Mann influenced cine. That said, it's shot by two guys in the woods on a weekend.

Project Direct - The Bus Stops Here

A young man on a self destructive binge is encouraged to seek help by a a homeless man he meets at a bus stop. This is a Project Direct entry. A redited version will be online soon. This version was edited in a couple of hours to make the contest deadline.
